Program Updates – Summer 2025
Dr. Neill Ramos, Internal Medicine Residency Program Director, Dr. Rima Gharibjanyan, Associate Program Director, and the IM Program Curriculum Committee meet regularly to re-tool existing rotations, as well as adopt new rotational experiences that align with the ACGME and our resident learners to provide an optimal educational and clinical training while at St Mary.
Dr. Jim Keany, Chief Medical Officer and board-certified emergency medicine physician, has been actively engaged in working with the residency program and GME team since joining St Mary in September 2024. Dr. Wish Gooneratne, Chair of the Program Evaluation Committee (PEC) and Internal Medicine Residency Associate Program Director convenes a PEC meeting monthly. Peer-selected Residents and GME Faculty are members of the PEC and welcome all voices to shape the residency educational experience in a collaborative spirit. Associate Program Director, Dr. Wafa Mohammed, chairs the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC).
PGY-3 resident, Dr. Ojel Pathak, PGY-2 resident, Dr. Kimberly Yos, and other peer-selected residents and members lead our GMEC Subcommittee on Resident Wellness to focus on the well-being and psychological safety of all learners and medical education stakeholders at St Mary.
The St. Mary Designated Institutional Official (DIO) – Kel Miller, the C-Suite, and Administration have tremendous support for the Graduate Medical Education program(s) at St Mary as the Internal Medicine Residency Program is in its 58rd year and the institution celebrated its 102st anniversary in August 2025!
The Program and Sponsoring Institution are pro-actively working on all learning environment improvement needs in a collaborative and open fashion with residents, faculty, and other GME stakeholders.
